Jules Chetcuti, a young violinist and dedicated music educator based in Danbury, Connecticut, discovered her passion for music at an early age. Starting with violin lessons, she quickly embraced other instruments such as flute, saxophone, and piano. Her musical journey expanded through involvement in diverse ensembles spanning jazz, marching band, folk, bluegrass, symphony orchestras, and string quartets.

Raised by parents who were educators, including one who taught music, Chetcuti developed a profound appreciation for music education. This passion led her to pursue a B.S. in Music Education at Western Connecticut State University, graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA in May 2023. Immediately recognized for her talent, she secured a teaching position in Ridgefield, CT, known for its vibrant music program.

Chetcuti lives by the principle that those who can, teach. This led to her co-founding the Legacy String Quartet in 2022 to engage in community outreach and inspire her students. Her dedication has been further recognized through scholarships for prestigious string festivals like KentMusic, Charles Ives Music Festival, and the Interharmony International Music Festival in Italy.

At WCSU, she distinguished herself as a finalist in the Annual Furman Competition for two consecutive years and served as concertmaster in the university orchestra for three years. Recently, she achieved notable success at the 48th annual “Pickin N Fiddlin” contest in Roxbury, CT, placing 3rd in solo fiddling and 1st with her band “The City Mice.”

Dr. Luis Fernando Jiménez, conductor of the WCSU orchestra, describes Jules as "an outstanding young talent with a drive that matches her tremendous ability." Rooted in her beginnings with the Danbury Music Centre, a local nonprofit, she remains committed to fostering community through music, aiming to inspire others to engage with their community through similar organizations.
